Sleep in Peace

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me swell in safety and confident trust.
 Psalm 4:8

I don't know about you, but for me night-time is my time to think and dream about things that happened that day, things I would like to do. It's when my husband and son are asleep. I find it really difficult after a stressful day to turn my brain off. When I went through all 3 of my miscarriages I would find it hard to sleep. My husband would always tell me that I needed to get my rest, and it wasn't going to do any good staying up all night watching TV, worrying about it. I know he had my best interest at heart. But for me, I didn't want to go to sleep. I felt as though by sleeping I was forgetting about my baby, I was letting another day go by. To this day I still find it a bit strange that it has been 3 years since my first miscarriage and 2 months since my 3rd. After awhile I found it to be my time to share my concerns with God and ask for His help. He does tell us in the bible to cast our cares on Him. When I began doing this is when I truly began feeling His peace.

I encourage you to do this also. Let go and let God.

If you have a prayer reguest, please send me a message or leave an anonymous comment. I would love to include you in my prayers.

I have not had a miscarriage, but I do suffer with chronic depression. My iPod has been a gift from God. I fall asleep to it almost every night. Sometimes I listen to the sounds of the waves... sometimes a favorite podcast... sometimes a sermon. Finding something that calms my mind and helps me draw closer to God helps me find peace so that I can sleep.

Thanks for stirring my thoughts today!
